Circular economy

CenSE is committed to research focused on the circular transition. Facilitating the change process towards sustainable circular partnerships is an important part of this.  

On the one hand, CenSE conducts fundamental research on sustainable cooperation models and innovative circular business models. On the other hand, the research group is strongly engaged in practical research experimenting with new circular chains. How a diverse set of actors can cooperate with each other in an efficient and transparent way invariably gets an important place in each project. This is in line with the principles of systems thinking.

From this perspective, CenSE contributes to the roll-out of the circular economy in Brussels, Flanders and Europe.

    In this research we want to explore what is needed to establish sustainable partnerships between the actors of a Quintuple Helix model for circular ecosystems, within the Flemish and Brussels context.

  • S-CircEl: Social and Circular Ecosystems with a view to advancement to gainful employment

    Transition from the social economy to a sustainable, paid job (in the regular circuit) is and remains a major challenge. Within this project we look for new opportunities to (re)activate this target group on the (regular) labor market and increase their chances of a sustainable job.
