Transition from the social economy to a sustainable, paid job (in the regular circuit) is and remains a major challenge. Within this project we look for new opportunities to (re)activate this target group on the (regular) labor market and increase their chances of a sustainable job. We focus specifically on short- and medium-skilled profiles with a distance to the labor market.

Background

Opportunities for sustainable employment for our target group can be found, among other things, in the growing circular economy. After all, the transition to a more circular model will - in addition to ecological and economic added value - also create important social effects, especially in terms of employment. The circular labor market offers opportunities for people with different levels of education, where there is also - and even especially - demand for short- and medium-skilled profiles to help support this transition. Consequently, circular economy could mean a boost for the sustainable (regular) employment of people distanced from the labor market.

In this project we focus on 2 bottlenecks:

  • Bottleneck 1: offering and filling (new) sustainable circular jobs.
  • Bottleneck 2: establishing new partnerships between managers.

Both bottlenecks benefit from mapping the desired competencies.

Objectives

We formulate 2 objectives in this project:

  • Objective 1: develop competency profiles for circular jobs aimed at short- and medium-skilled people with a distance to the labor market.
  • Objective 2: develop a competency model for managers who wish to engage in social-circular collaboration and co-creation.
