Urban Day - Skate Contest & Final Basket 3x3
On May 2, you are welcome to attend the Urban Day 2023, organized by Studentensport Vlaanderen en many local urban sponsors.
Program:
Flemish Student Skateboarding Contest. The well-known youtuber SAMUEL DE GRAEF on the skateboarding jury. Register using the online form or Facebook event.
Finals of the 3x3 basketball student championship.
Skate initiations for all supporters and enthusiasts.
Fantastic goodie bags for all participants put together by the urban sponsors; hot dogs and drinks at affordable prices.

Urban Diversities: Challenges for social work (EN)

How can you learn to 'read' a city and understand its dynamics? What role should you play as a social worker in the interplay of forces between all those actors active in the city? We looked into it.

Urban Dynamics: Exploring Migration, Human Rights and Inclusion in Education and Society
International Programme: Faculty of Education & Faculty of Applied Social Studies

The programme is open to all students, enrolled in a teacher education programme or applied social studies, who wish to broaden their knowledge and skills in an urban context. The programme offers a combination of theoretical modules (lectures/group work/workshops/self-study/field visits) with a practice-oriented approach. The field practice contains 2 weeks of practice, in line with students’ field of interest. Students develop a portfolio.
This international module aims to create a learning community with a focus on:
Migration and transnational relationships (6 ECTS)
Human and children’s rights (6 ECTS)
Inclusion in education and society (6 ECTS)
Skills and networks in a metropolitan context (6 ECTS)
Field practice (6 ECTS)

Values-driven career plan for students

This project aims to make students aware of their own choices towards a sustainable career (early) during their career. After a thorough test project in Howest and Odisee, it will be evaluated whether this service can become valuable for all students.

Games are played at the VUB sports complex every first and third Thursday of the month.
