Step 2 - Welcome to Toledo

Toledo is the electronic learning environment through which the course communicates with students and where you will find all kinds of documents, presentations and resources.

After logging in through https://toledolearning.odisee.be the Toledo home page opens.

The main sections are:

  1. the main navigation, with a search function and counters for new communications and modifications.
  2. the quick links, with links to tools and information outside Toledo.
  3. the enrollments, with one or more tiles for your course that provide access to Toledo courses.
  4. the Updates and Communications, with the chronological display of the most recent changes and communications.

Step 3 - Welcome to the course room

As soon as the administrator makes a Toledo course available to students, you will be able to click on the tile from the Toledo home page and enter the course space.

Since academic year 2024-2025, (almost) all tiles use the updated course room (Ultra) within the learning environment. Thus, those who have previously worked with Toledo will notice that courses have been redesigned.

The main areas in a course room window are:

  1. the top navigation with tabs such as Content, Announcements and Grades.
  2. the course content with an overview of learning modules and folders in this Toledo course.
  3. the course leaders with a point of contact for this course.
  4. the details and actions menu with some options.

Step 4 - Tracking your progress

In the knowledge clip at step 3, you could see how to navigate through the course content.

In each course, you can use progress to track which sections you have already viewed or processed.

For items that require an action from you, such as an assignment or test, progress will be tracked automatically. For other items, such as documents or files, you can set the progress to 'completed' by clicking on the icon.

Currently there are 3 possible statuses;

  1. This item is finished
  2. You have opened this item but have not yet completed it
  3. You have not viewed this item yet

Step 5 - Submit an assignment (or test)

You use Toledo not only to access information but also, for example, to submit assignments or take tests.

You click on the "Show instructions" button to start your attempt.

In the assignment window you will see

  1. The instructions for this assignment
  2. Additional details and information about this assignment, including the deadline
  3. The text box where you can enter text and attach files or media
  4. The "Submit" button to submit your final assignment

Adding files to the textbox of an assignment (or test) is done by:

  • dragging one or more files from the explorer into the text box, or
  • using the paperclip icon in the text editor
