Research Centre The Language Constructors

We do research on education in language and language in education. New insights, tools and methodologies are developed through practice-based research in co-creation with schools and teachers.

CenSE | Center for Sustainable Entrepreneurship

The Center for Sustainable Entrepreneurship (CenSE) is an independent research center at Odisee University of Applied Sciences, affiliated to the Business Administration department. We investigate sustainable entrepreneurship within family businesses and SMEs and detect new trends and challenges in the economy or society.

Tech

The research carried out within the Tech cluster, although very diverse at first glance, is always based on the basic principles of sound, innovative and topically relevant practice-oriented scientific research.

This research can range from improving industrial processes or developing a (measuring) instrument, to devising policy advice or investigating innovative sustainable management of raw materials and natural resources. From developing apps for care domotics, to measuring energy loads or training energy experts, to welfare improvements in organic dairy goats.

Social

Our research is linked to the Bachelor's programmes in Social Work, Orthopaedagogy and Family Sciences and the post-Bachelor's programme in Psychosocial Gerontology.

With quality practice-based research we want to strengthen our education, stimulate innovation in the field and inspire scientific and social debate.

Health

The research group within the Health Cluster consists of researchers from seven different programmes: biomedical laboratory techniques, occupational therapy, medical imaging and radiotherapy, eye care, nursing, nutrition and dietetics and midwifery.

Education

Offering attractive and quality education is a main priority for Odisee. The research group within the Education cluster departs from the following vision:

Research in education

  • starts from high-quality practice-oriented and scientific research projects
  • offers teachers the opportunity to professionalise
  • actively guides students in educational research
  • is inspired by, completes in close interaction with and provides feedback to the broad educational field

Odibilly is coming to your campus AND he's bringing something for you!

For many of you, exams will start soon. And who says exams, automatically says block! Not a very pleasant period, if you know what fun things you could be doing in the meantime. But we will not leave you to your fate at Odisee and will support you through thick and thin! 💪

To ease your suffering a little, Odibilly, the mascot of project Odibuddy, is coming to give you a helping hand. How? Well, at the beginning of June Odibilly will come to your campus and he will bring something to help you through the block (maybe drag you?)!

Curious about what you will get from Odibilly? Be sure to check out the dates when he will visit your campus and feel free to drop by!
