User Experience Lab
Welcome to the User Experience Lab at Odisee
In the User Experience Lab we focus on the user according to the principles of User Centered Design. From the user's point of view, we investigate the need for and usefulness of new solutions through user tests or examine how and where existing solutions are experienced and can be optimized through usability tests.
Is User Experience Design or User Centered Design not yet part of your development process? Book an appointment and discover the benefits of a user-centered approach.

We measure usability
What is the purpose of our UX Lab?
-
Support and promote the User Centered Design process
-
Facilitate user testing and usability testing (with appropriate sensors)
-
Exploring the user experience of new technologies
With our UX Lab, we try to promote User Centered Design principles to improve development processes. Often UX Design is considered to be time consuming or is used late in the development process. Besides, UX Design is much more than just the design of the user interface.
We are convinced that by integrating UX in the whole process, from problem definition to delivery and beyond, you not only increase the quality of a product or service, but you also reduce development time.
How can we help?
Can opener
Through Blikopener, you can get a free taste of the possibilities. Book an intake interview with one of our staff members.
Workshops and training
We conduct a workshop for your employees in which we implement the User Centered Design method.
Supporting user testing
We support you in conducting user testing and usability testing. Our UX lab is equipped with Eye Tracking, Facial Expression Recognition, GSR and EEG sensors.
Research and new technologies
You can also hire us to research new technologies such as AR and VR. We have both simple(Oculus, HTC vive) and high-end(HP Reverb and Microsoft Hololens) equipment.

What do we have at our disposal?

Eye Trackers and Facial Expression Recognition.
Using both screen (desktop) and mobile (glasses) eye trackers, we can perfectly figure outwhat and how long a user looks at something. The UX lab also has software to analyze a user's facial expressions through a camera.

GSR and EEG sensors
GSR stands for Galvanic Skin Response and measures the moisture of the skin. With EEG sensors (Electro-Encephalogram) we measure brain activity. Both sensors are designed to register certain emotional responses.

Virtual Reality Glasses
With both simple (Oculus, HTC vive) and high-end (HP Reverb, Microsoft Hololens) virtual reality glasses, we can explore using these new technologies for certain purposes
