DIEBLEMORAD

Continuing education for qualified radiographers lacks to address necessary skills related to the competency of learning. Furthermore, many radiographers do not have the opportunity to meet, discuss and learn together with foreign colleagues.Ā The main objective of this project is to design, deliver and evaluate a transnational virtual mobility course for qualified radiographers which addresses the competency of learning.

Number and profile of participants

Thirty qualified nuclear medicine radiographers, 10 from each partner country, participate in the transnational virtual mobility course.Ā

Description of activities

The higher education institutes in the three partner countries have two project meetings to design the transnational virtual mobility course. Thereafter, in each partner country, a seminar is organized to inform nuclear medicine associations and nuclear medicine hospital departments about the project. A few weeks after the recruitment of the course participants, a six week transnational virtual mobility course is launched. A third project meeting takes place to evaluate the course and to prepare the dissemination of the results through a dedicated seminar in each of the partner countries.Ā Ā

MethodologyĀ

A designated questionnaire is used to generate an overview of the differences in the practice of nuclear medicine and more specific in the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals. The transnational virtual mobility course is realized through videoconferencing.Ā

Results and impact

The course participants will develop learning skills such as: self-reflection, critical appraisal, problem solving and collaboration. This will result in transnational agreed guidelines which will have an impact on working procedures in nuclear medicine. Furthermore, this project encourages higher education institutes and professional associations to make much more use of videoconferencing as a method to facilitate transnational virtual mobility in regular and continuing education.Ā
